About us

At Klesh Guitars, I am dedicated to crafting the finest handmade guitars. My name is Shane Klesh, a luthier with over 20 years of experience. I run my studio and luthier shop from my Colorado home, where I design and build each guitar with precision and care.

My love for woodworking and craftsmanship runs deep in my family, dating back to the Pennsylvania Dutch craftsmen in the 1700s and my great-grandfather's gunsmithing in the late 1800s and early 1900s. My grandfather, George, taught me many of the skills that I still use today in the shop.

I received formal training as a luthier in 2003 at Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery in Phoenix, and later had the opportunity to work as an apprentice with many renowned luthiers from the Gibson Pro shop and the FA studio for artists. I then joined Michael Tobias and Chris Hofschneider at MTD Basses in Kingston, NY, where I continued to refine my craft and develop my own instrument designs.

From 2008 - 2016, I ran "Centerline Luthiery," a guitar repair shop in West Hazleton, PA, and moved to Denver in 2016. Today, Klesh Guitars is a full-scale luthier shop focusing on building guitars.
